The remodeling of this 74 year-old home won Redwood City's Best Interior Remodel of the Year award in 2001. The redesign was based on modernity and functionality blended with some of the original design features of the original home. For example, a second storey was added and concrete kitchen counter tops were installed, while some of the original hardwood floors were restored and the original terra cotta roof tiles, which were beautifully antiqued, were preserved for a Mediterranean touch.
