| This
home was originally built in 1889 as a photography studio. With such a home,
it's challenging to maintain the historic integrity of the house, while
trying to bring the actual structure up to par. Some of the framing in the
original walls was scrapped together with old fence posts and laths! Our
goal with this design was to make the structure more livable by opening
up the congested interior. After knocking down several walls, widening doorways,
and adding windows, the home is now more inviting with a stronger diffusion
of lighting throughout and a better "flow" from front to back. |
